    Q:
How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
A halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) should be used for fitting examinations after txv installation completion. Start the process by collecting refrigerant from the air conditioning system before fastening open tubes of the Evaporator using caps or tape for protection against contamination. Muffle the heater hoses if needed before you extract the Evaporator tube block to the txv nut then disconnect the Evaporator inlet and outlet tube block from the txv. Cut off the Evaporator inlet tube from the outlet tube before disposing of the installed sealing washers. The procedure continues by sealing the Evaporator tubes with tape and caps then you should extract the txv to Evaporator bolts and remove the txv from the Evaporator core before discarding its sealing washers. To install the txv position new sealing washers on the Evaporator core before attaching the txv to its location where you must follow the specified fastener protocol. The installation requires fastening the txv to Evaporator bolts at 3.2 n.m (28 lb in)) while removing tape or caps from Evaporator inlet and outlet tubes to install new sealing washers. The first step is to join the Evaporator inlet tube to the outlet tube followed by attaching the Evaporator inlet and outlet tube block to the txv which leads to installing the Evaporator tube block onto the txv nut before tightening the bolts to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The a/c system needs evacuation and recharge as the final step.
