Starting the process to replace a sliding door weather strip requires users to first disable the power sliding door system by extracting PSD 15A from the instrument panel fuse block and subsequently opening the sliding rear door. First clear the pinch-weld flange from its present weather strip before cleaning off all residual adhesive from the surface. The new sliding door opening weather strip should not receive weather strip adhesive even though it has mastic/sealer/glue embedded in it. To properly position the weather strip on the pinch-weld flange users must align the locator dot to the upper front corner and upper rear corners paying attention to the pink dot representing a long wheel base and yellow dot indicating a short wheel base. Begin installation by placing the weather strip against the flange starting from the joint section while keeping the directional arrows in mind to avoid stretching the weather strip. Make sure all corners rest fully into position during the process. While keeping the weather strip's loose end at the seated point you must carefully draw the tear strip from the joint across its total length using a spoon for proper installation completion. To reactivate low current logic power users must replace the PSD 15A fuse into the fuse block while both power sliding door modules need to learn full closed and open positions.

The procedure for replacing the sliding door weather strip begins with PSD 15A fuse removal from the instrument panel fuse block followed by disabling the power sliding door system. Open the sliding rear door. First you need to remove the sliding door weather strip from its pinch-weld flange position while cleaning the adhesive residue from the entire flange. Note that the new sliding door opening weather strip includes a mastic/sealer/glue which means users should not apply weather strip adhesive; otherwise they can use the old weather strip with adhesive. Usage of the locator dot requires users to match it against the upper front and rear corners of the pinch-weld flange while pink signifies long wheel base and yellow indicates short wheel base. Begin the procedure by rolling the weather strip along its specified directional markings from the joint place until both corners rest without pulling too much on the weather strip. Dab the loose end of the weather strip to its seated counterpart before pulling the tear strip from the joint till the entire length is checked for wrinkles or creases. Complete the power sliding door system restoration through PSD 15A fuse installation into the instrument panel fuse block while both power sliding door modules must learn full open and full closed positions.

The first step to replace the sliding door auxiliary weather strip begins by opening the sliding rear door to its fullest extent. Apply the heat gun on the sliding door auxiliary weather strip by holding it 150 mm (6 in) from the surface while circularly moving the heat for 30 seconds. You should peel off the weather strip from the panel using a flat-bladed tool while making sure that the paint stays undamaged. Clean the body panel with a chemical mixture of naphtha or alcohol that contains no oil. The installation requires heating the body panel to reach a minimum temperature of 21°C (70°F) through the use of a heat lamp or heat gun. Sell the adhesive backing at the front section of the sliding door auxiliary weather strip while avoiding direct contact with the adhesive side after which you should press the weather stripping to the body. To achieve secure attachment you should hand roll the rear side door auxiliary weather strip onto the body. As your final step you should place the rear quarter window.

Reinstall the sliding door swing out window.

Fully open the sliding rear door.

Install the rear quarter window.

Clean the old adhesive in the area using 3M(TM) P/N 8984 adhesive remover or an equivalent.

Fully open the sliding rear door.

The new weatherstrip contains mastic/sealer/glue, so do not use additional weatherstrip adhesive.

Cut the tear strip for removal.

Finally, close the front door.

Pull the rear quarter window weatherstrip from the pinch-weld flange and take it out of the vehicle.

Pull the rear quarter window weatherstrip from the pinch-weld flange and remove it from the vehicle.

Peel the backing from the front end of the weatherstrip without touching the adhesive backing.

Roll the weatherstrip from the joint to the bottom of the window.
