How to service the knock sensor on 2000 Buick Century?

A vehicle service for the knock sensor begins with ignition off and vehicle lift. Service the knock sensor by disconnecting the wiring harness connector from the sensor before removing it from its block attachment. The new knock sensor requires no thread sealant during installation because its threads come pre-coated at the factory making extra sealant detrimental to its detonation detection capability. Screw the knock sensor into position in the engine block until torque reaches 19 N.m (14 lb ft). After finishing knock sensor wiring harness connector installation on the knock sensor you can return the vehicle to its normal riding position.
