How to service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch for the computer on 2000 Buick Century?

One has to first turn OFF the ignition and relieve the coolant pressure to service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer). Soak the coolant just enough to avoid spillage upon removal ofyon sensor, then disconnect the ECT sensor to the electrical connector. Then with the help of a deep well socket and an extension, take off the sensor. For installation, apply on the thread of the engine coolant temperature sensor sealer P/N 9985253 or similar and put the sensor on the engine, then tighten the sensor with 23 N.m (17 lb ft). Reconnect the ECT sensor with its electrical connector, fill the coolant system, start the engine, and check for leaks and coolant level.
