How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor (24X) on 2000 Buick Century?

To replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (24X), instead turn off the ignition and remove the serpentine Drive Belt from crank shaft pulley. Lift the vehicle with a hoist and remove crankshaft Harmonic Balancer. Observe the routing of the sensor package before removal. Remove the harness retaining clip with bolt and disconnect the sensor electrical package. Next, eliminate the bolts of the sensor and do the removal of the sensor. For installation use the 24x Crankshaft Position Sensor with bolts and harness route as spotted during removal. Connect the harness retaining clip with bolt and tighten the bolts to 10 n.m (8 lb ft). Activate the sensor electrical connector, then reinstall the balancer to the crankshaft. Apply thread sealer gm #1052080 or equivalent to the threads of the crankshaft Harmonic Balancer bolt and tighten it to 150 n.m (110 lb ft). Reduce the vehicle, reinstall the serpentine Drive Belt, and execute ckp system variation learn procedure.
