2000 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: The first step for fluid filter - a/t maintenance involves removing the Oil Pan together with its gasket. Remove first the filter (100) before potentially removing the lip ring seal (101) that is pressed into the case. Successively examine the screen for the presence of metal particles combined with clutch facing material, rubber particles and engine coolant. Identify and fix the source of contamination if any unwanted substances appear during the inspection. Apply a solvent to clean the screen and use aeriform dry air to dry it. When replacing (101) the Oil Pan installation requires a mallet and the proper socket size to press it flush against the case. Install the filter (100) while using new replacement filters when needed. Follow this step with the gasket and the Oil Pan.
