2000 Buick LeSabre Transmission Pan Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the transmission pan on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: A vehicle lift will service and repair the fluid pan by using a drain pan for the transaxle Oil Pan. Put the drain pan beneath the transaxle Oil Pan. During Oil Pan bolt removal avoid damaging either sealing surface since this will result in an oil leak. Unfasten the Oil Pan bolts on the Oil Pan front section along with the sides and next gently rotate the rear Oil Pan bolts by 4 turns. Lightly strike the Oil Pan using a rubber mallet to drain fluid while inspecting the fluid color. When the oil drain processing ends remove all remaining Oil Pan bolts before uninstalling the Oil Pan along with its gasket. The Oil Pan gasket must be installed with a new gasket where sealing ribs become damaged. Place the Oil Pan bolts on their matching holes before tightening them to 14 nm (10 ft. Lbs.). Before filling the transaxle use dexron(R) iii fluid or equivalent to reach the correct fluid mark. Perform the initial fluid fill on the cold level without exceeding capacity and inspect for any leaks throughout the Oil Pan gasket.
