How to replace the front door opening Weather Strip on 2000 Buick LeSabre?

The replacement of front door opening Weather Strip begins with removing the sill plate. Start stripping the Weather Strip by pulling it from the door opening flange at its rear upper corner before moving towards the door opening circumference. The paint dots located in the upper corner of the center pillar indicate the starting point for the right-hand side Weather Strip but indicate the starting point for the left-hand side Weather Strip when there are two dots present. The rubber component within the Weather Strip needs to be placed on the exterior side of the car. The first installation point begins at the rear edge of the door opening flange where you should clinch the carrier into its corners while installing the Weather Strip. From the center pillar to the front of the vehicle install the Weather Strip along both the roof rail and window-pillar flanges while maintaining complete corner seating of the carrier. A rubber mallet or your palm should press the Weather Strip to make sure it fits every area of the door opening flange. The installation of close-out lip requires a plastic trim stick or equivalent to position it properly either by placing over interior trim near door opening or using ripcord under new Weather Strip. Finally, reinstall the sill plate.
