How to replace the front door opening Weather Strip on 2001 Buick LeSabre?

The process of changing front door opening Weather Strip needs the removal of the sill plate first. Start from the upper rear edge of the door opening where you will pull the Weather Strip off the door opening flange through 360 degrees to remove the weather stripping completely. Apply the paint dots in the upper corner of the center pillar to indicate which end of the rh Weather Strip to start with and which end of the lh Weather Strip to begin with. Position the Weather Strip rubber side toward the external side of the vehicle before installing the Weather Strip downward from the rear edge onto the door opening flange while making sure the carrier fits securely into all corners. Keep the carrier fully seated against each corner as you move forward from the center pillar to apply the Weather Strip on the roof rail and window-pillar flange. To properly position the Weather Strip on the door opening flange you should use your open palm or a rubber mallet. A plastic trim stick or equivalent tool can be used to place the close-out lip over interior trim that surrounds the door opening. New Weather Strip requires using the ripcord under its close-out lip to pull the Weather Strip into position over interior trim. Finally, reinstall the sill plate.
