How to replace the rear Trunk Lock Cylinder on 2001 Buick LeSabre?

By removing the tail lamp assembly first you access the rear compartment lid lock cylinder which you need to dismount from its latch cable. Unscrew the three hardware joints that hold the cylinder to the lid part before pulling the lock cylinder out from the rear compartment. You must insert the lock cylinder into the lid space while keeping to the fastener notice provided in service precautions. Use three fasteners to connect the lock cylinder to the lid unit and tighten them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Secure the latch cable onto the lock cylinder then put the back up lamp back into place.
