A person must remove the door before trying to replace the front side door hinge. First remove hinge fasteners from both the door and pillar before removing the hinge half from the door. Follow the Fastener Notice when installing the hinge half by aligning it to the body frame. Tighten the hinge fasteners attaching to the body at 35 N.m (26 lb ft). Attach the hinge to the door fasteners while securing them to 34 N.m (24 lb ft). The proper alignment of the door needs adjustment following reinstallation of the door by referring to the Door Striker Alignment Notice. Complete the repair of any damaged parts on the hinge and fasteners by using body color paint.
