How to replace the front door striker on 2000 Buick Park Avenue?

A proper front door striker replacement begins with marking the striker position and counting the number of spacers before removing the fasteners. Journal the door striker position on the pillar with a grease pencil before removing the fasteners and then removing the striker and its spacer and washer. During installation, put together the striker, washer along with spacer and mount the striker onto the lock pillar facing outward with the narrow side first while keeping it in line with the removal marks. Fasten the striker location points while positioning the door striker in proper alignment before tightening fasteners to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
