2000 Buick Regal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a knock sensor on 2000 Buick Regal?
A: To dismount the Knock Sensor start by turn off the ignition and elevate the vehicle. Then do remove the silicone drain and drain the cooling system. And take the Knock Sensor heat shield mounting bolt which is intended under the freeze plug or block heater respectively if it is and disconnected the Knock Sensor wiring harness connector from the Knock Sensor and then removed a Knock Sensor from the engine block. For installation, don't apply thread sealant to the sensor threads because it's factory applied which is required for its ability to detect detonation. Place the Knock Sensor into the engine block and tighten it up to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Install the new Knock Sensor heat shield mounting bolt, connect the wire harness connector to the Knock Sensor, install the splash shield, and lower the vehicle and the oil level.
