How to Replace a Trunk Lock Cylinder in the Rear Compartment Lid on 2000 Cadillac DeVille?

Open the rear compartment lid and take off the trim around the compartment lid as your first step. Then, take away the back up lamp and separate the latch release cable from the lid lock cylinder . After taking off the retainer clip that keeps the lid lock cylinder in place, take out the lid lock cylinder from the rear compartment lid. Place the lid lock cylinder back in the rear compartment lid and use the retainer clip to keep it in place. After hooking the latch release cable to the lid lock cylinder , put the back up lamp in place and attach the rear compartment lid trim. Then, close the rear compartment lid.
