How to replace the rear Trunk Lock Cylinder on Cadillac DeVille?

You must start by opening the rear compartment lid and then removing the compartment lid trims for this job. First disconnect the back up lamp and then take off the latch release cable from the lid lock cylinder. When replacing the lid lock cylinder construct remove the retainer clip before taking out the cylinder from the rear compartment lid. Fit the lid lock cylinder into the rear compartment lid. Press the retainer clip onto its proper position to hold the cylinder securely. Feeder the latch release cable back to the lid lock cylinder then place everything in its proper position including restoring the back up lamp.
