2000 Cadillac Eldorado Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the vacuum brake booster without removing the master cylinder on 2000 Cadillac Eldorado?
A: You do not need to separate the master cylinder from the vehicle to fix the Brake Booster system. Take out the master cylinder first when both parts will be removed together. Turn off the brake master cylinder locking nuts before taking the master cylinder off the booster unit. Slide the assembly forwards until the brake tubes do not get bent when it passes through the vacuum booster studs. First disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum check valve. Afterwards unscrew the booster attaching nuts before you can pull out the booster. Easily detach the booster pushrod from the Brake Pedal by tipping the vacuum booster downward to work the pushrod off its pedal clevis pin without force. Put the new booster on the vehicle and insert the pushrod into the Brake Pedal with booster tilting. Connect the booster vacuum hose to the vacuum check valve after fastening booster attaching nuts to 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). Put the master cylinder onto the booster then tighten its attaching nuts to 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.).
