How to service the thermostat on 2000 Cadillac Eldorado?

Turn off the Thermostat to drain the coolant. Then do away with the air cleaner assembly, the Radiator Hose and the Thermostat Housing to eliminate access to the Thermostat. Following the removal of the Thermostat, it is important to clean all the sealing surfaces. For installation, install the new Thermostat and followed by installing the new Thermostat Housing with the new gasket, following the fastener notice for proper torque. Tighten the Thermostat Housing bolts to 10nm (89 inch lbs.), reconnect the radiator hoop, install the air cleaner assembly back. Lastly, add the coolant back, start up the engine, and inspect for any leaks.
