  A: The engine sight shield retaining bolts along with the engine sight shield need to be removed as the first step of servicing and repairing the Canister Purge Valves. The evap purge solenoid electrical connector should be disconnected then the evap purge hose requires separation from the evap purge solenoid using quick-connect fitting methodology. Open the throttle partly before uninstalling the retaining bolt and the solenoid of the evap purge solenoid. Installation of the evap purge solenoid requires a new o-ring positioned on it followed by partially opening the throttle before installing the solenoid. Fix the evap purge solenoid retaining bolt while torquing it to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The throttle should be partially opened to proceed as you reconnect the evap purge hoses using quick-connect fitting followed by the electrical connector of the evap purge solenoid. You must install the engine sight shield together with retaining bolts while tightening them to 8 n.m (70 lb in).
