  A: The first step to access the air injection pump for bank 1 requires vehicle lift then removing screws from the front portion of the right front wheel well/splash shield. Afterwards, lower the splash shield to reach the air pump assembly. First loosen the pinch clamp on the air exhaust hose and afterward disconnect the hose from the air pump before removing the air inlet hose/filter assembly. The service procedure starts with disconnecting the air pump electrical connector and rotating lower air to cradle bracket nuts while you remove the upper air pump to cradle bolt. Staring from the cradle bracket the air pump can be removed through a lifting action followed by pulling it outside the bracket. The lower air pump bolts must fit into the cradle bracket first while pushing down before fixing the upper air pump to cradle bolt and tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in).
