Service of air injection pump for bank 2 begins by elevating the vehicle and unfastening screws at the front of the splash shield before lowering it to reach the air pump assembly. The servicing begins with opening the air exhaust hose pinch clamp before removing its hose from the air pump while carefully removing the hose and filter assembly from the pump. After disconnecting the electrical connector of the air pump you must loosen the lower air bracket nuts while removing the upper air to cradle mounting bolt. You should lift the air pump vertically from its cradle bracket position. Mount the lower air pump bolts/nuts into the cradle bracket followed by pushing it down before installing the upper air pump to cradle bolt which requires 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque setting. To check correct fitment of the air inlet hose/filter to the air pump you should hear a click while ensuring the rubber o-ring rests at the bottom of the air pump. The installation of the air pump requires assembly of the inlet hose/filter assembly to the pump then securing the pump exhaust hose to the airflow device with a clamp. The vehicle maintenance process concludes by attaching the air pump electrical assembly while placing the splash shield in position followed by securing the screws before lowering the vehicle.

Raising the vehicle enables access to the right front wheel well/splash shield's front retaining screws for subsequent removal of this shield in order to reach the bank 1 air pump assembly. Working counterclockwise on the air exhaust hose pinch clamp enables removal of the exhaust hose from the pump before gently removing the inlet hose/filter assembly from the air pump. The air pump electrical connector requires disconnection before the lower air to cradle bracket nuts become loose and the upper air pump to cradle bolt can be removed. The air pump can be extracted from the cradle bracket by lifting upward and pulling out. After installing the lower air pump nuts to the cradle bracket wear down before you install the upper air pump cradle bolt which needs a tightening torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). The installation process requires a rubber o-ring position at the bottom of the air pump followed by a click detection to indicate proper airflow through the inlet hose/filter before completing the assembly work. Fitting the air pump exhaust hose to the device while using a hose clamp releases the electrical connection of the pump followed by positioning the wheel well/splash shield then reinstalling the retaining screws before lowering the vehicle.

The first step to access the air injection pump for bank 1 requires vehicle lift then removing screws from the front portion of the right front wheel well/splash shield. Afterwards, lower the splash shield to reach the air pump assembly. First loosen the pinch clamp on the air exhaust hose and afterward disconnect the hose from the air pump before removing the air inlet hose/filter assembly. The service procedure starts with disconnecting the air pump electrical connector and rotating lower air to cradle bracket nuts while you remove the upper air pump to cradle bolt. Staring from the cradle bracket the air pump can be removed through a lifting action followed by pulling it outside the bracket. The lower air pump bolts must fit into the cradle bracket first while pushing down before fixing the upper air pump to cradle bolt and tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Check for the rubber o-ring placed at the air pump's bottom before hearing the click sound to verify correct attachment of the air inlet hose/filter to the air pump. The next step includes installing the air inlet hose/filter assembly onto the air pump before you attach the exhaust hose and put on a hose clamp. Lastly, you reconnect the air pump electrical connector. Raise and position the wheel well/splash shield before reattaching its retaining screws while lowering the vehicle.

Install the lower AIR pump bolts/nuts into the cradle bracket and push down, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the AIR outlet hose and pinch clamp to the AIR pump, and then install the AIR inlet hose to the AIR pump.

Install the upper AIR pump to cradle bolt and tighten both the upper and lower AIR pump to cradle bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Remove the retaining screws from the front portion of the left front wheel well/splash shield and lower the splash shield.

Install the upper AIR pump to cradle bolt, tightening it to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Reconnect the AIR pump electrical connector.

Loosen and lower the AIR outlet hose pinch clamp.
