How to service and repair the exhaust crossover exhaust pipe on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

The first step for servicing the exhaust crossover pipe requires removal of the transaxle assembly. The service begins with removing the two bolts which secure the left side Exhaust Manifold. Replacment of the egr valve inlet pipe is necessary after disconnecting it because the water crossover uses a crush seal connection. Remove both the egr inlet pipe from the exhaust crossover before taking off the exhaust front pipe. The service procedure begins by unfastening the bolt connecting the crossover pipe to the crankcase then the nut securing the ignition module ground wire to the Cylinder Head and finishing with the bolt holding the crossover pipe to the Cylinder Head. Clear the crossover pipe from the engine compartment as the next step. Begin by applying two flange seals to the crossover pipe before positioning it correctly while keeping the lh Exhaust Manifold joint free from tightening. Install the exhaust front pipe after supporting it with hand torques to support bolts 1 and 3. Fasten the Cylinder Head support bolt at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) while the crankcase support bolt requires the same torque setting of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Install the nut which supports the ignition module ground wire on the Cylinder Head before securing it with 17 nm torque value (13 ft. Lbs.). Secure all fasteners by tightening left hand Exhaust Manifold bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Start the fitting of the egr inlet pipe-to-crossover valve with your hand to avoid threading issues before tightening it to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.
