How to replace the rear exhaust pipe on 2001 Cadillac Seville?

Vehicle elevation followed by support should be your first step before starting to replace the rear exhaust manifold pipe. Carefully detach the four nuts holding the Catalytic Converter to the exhaust manifold rear pipe while paying attention to hot exhaust components and their removal. Put the exhaust system so the studs at the front of the Catalytic Converter can pass by the exhaust manifold rear pipe. After that remove the Catalytic Converter gasket since you should use a new one. The two bolts securing the exhaust manifold rear pipe to both the right exhaust manifold and front exhaust manifold need to be removed along with two more bolts that show similar attachment. During the removal process disconnect the exhaust manifold rear pipe and its gasket while also taking away both the exhaust manifold pipe seal and exhaust manifold flange seal retainer which should be discarded. Install a new exhaust manifold pipe seal and the exhaust manifold flange seal retainer onto the exhaust manifold rear pipe flange. Insert the two retaining bolts through the flange before finger tightening them. A new gasket should be placed on the exhaust manifold rear pipe flange and the two retaining bolts should pass through it. The exhaust manifold rear pipe should be inserted around the exhaust manifold front pipe and towards the right exhaust manifold where the two bolts secure it with 40 nm torque (30 ft. Lbs.) strength before tightening the two bolts to the exhaust manifold flange seal retainer to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Set a fresh Catalytic Converter gasket over the studs before mounting the Catalytic Converter onto the exhaust manifold rear pipe and fasten it with four nuts torqued to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
