  A: Begin any console (UV8) replacement by disabling the sir system while setting the parking brake into position. Start by removing storage bins or cd changer and then remove the console trim plate followed by left and right console trim panels. Detach the shifter cable from the shifter before removing its fastener for the Shift Cable's front bracket then separate the park lock cable from the shifter. Begin by pulling off the storage bin floor cover followed by the console tray insert and interface card along with its electrical connector. Remove both the rear hvac control and ashtray from their positions at the back of the Center Console. Fasten the console fasteners to the metal bracket arms on both sides of the console until they achieve 10 n.m (89 lb in) of torque then connect the electrical connectors numbered 1, 2 and 3. Secure the cover on storage bin floor then place the park lock cable on the shifter followed by attaching the Shift Cable to the shifter. Eventually install the left and right console panels together with the console trim plate and storage bins or cd changer if present before enabling the sir.
