  A: The procedure to service and repair the Ignition Lock Cylinder begins with disabling the sir after proper precautions are followed. First activate the parking brake before removing both the radio or navigation display module and the a/c heater control head. Turn the ignition key into the run position. You can see through the radio hole in the instrument panel to locate the release button which resides on the switch side. To remove the ignition cylinder start by using a flat-bladed screwdriver or alternative tool to depress the retention tab below the Ignition Switch then gently pull the ignition cylinder from its place. Pull out retainers from the ignition cylinder bezel while freeing the reader/exciter and the cylinder cover from moving away from the ignition cylinder which allows release of retainers from the light pipe to the cylinder. Start by positioning the ignition cylinder cover alongside the light pipe onto the ignition cylinder so retainers can lock into place. Position the reader/exciter on the ignition cylinder through the slot until it aligns with the opening. Finish mounting the ignition cylinder bezel by securing its retainers.
