• Q: How to service the turn signal switch on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

  A: Before working on the Turn Signal Switch you must disconnect the battery and turn off the sir system. Lower the Steering Column by removing the Steering Wheel at the knee bolster then unfasten the two Steering Column instrument panel nuts. Detach the Steering Column tilt handle as well as both shrouds to access the two wire harness straps connected to their areas. For the tilt head assembly, remove the single strap attached. Remove the wire harness assembly from its strap and take out the three wire harness straps from the power tilt and telescope column as needed. Unplug the green/brown/natural/black connections from the e&c interface module and take it out from the wire shield base. When opening the lower wire shield please retrieve the wire harness assembly by watching how power wires are positioned. Detach the blue, black, and gray connectors from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly before removing its two torx screws and pulling out the switch. Put the electrical contact on top of the turn signal cancel cam before you put the switch assembly in place and fasten it with torx screws at 7 nm torque. The wire harness assembly should run along the Steering Column jacket and connect back to the blue , black , gray contacts inside. Place the assembly through the wire strap holder. Fix two wire harness straps and one strap to the tilting head of the Steering Column. Directionally insert the wire harness onto its designated shield portion in the lower protective frame. Match the e&c interface module assembly into the wire shield area before reconnecting its green, brown, natural and black connectors. Seal the three wire straps to their positions on the wire harness assembly while inserting the wire harness strap into the Steering Column tilt head assembly. Place back the upper and lower shrouds before fastening the Steering Column to its mounting position with two nuts. Replace the tilt lever, steering wheel, and knee bolster on their original positions. Rejoin the negative battery wire after you activate the sir system.
