How to service and repair the turn signal switch on 2001 Cadillac Seville?

Begin servicing the Turn Signal Switch by deactivating the sir system first. Take off both steering column trim plates plus the steering column wire harness tie bands. Unplug electrical connectors from the steering column control module and take off the lower steering column wire cover to detach and track the steering column harness installation path. Unplug all the multifunction switch power connections and then remove the switch retaining screws before taking off the switch. Install the multifunction switch by placing its electrical contact first onto the turn signal cancel cam assembly then screw it in place at 7 nm (62 inch lbs.). Plug in electrical connectors 1 2 and 3 to the multifunction switch and bolt the steering column wire harness to the lower shield at the same time. Complete the setup by fastening the steering wire harness ties then adding steering trim panels followed by a sir activation.
