How to replace the parking brake cable on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

The vehicle needs to be raised and properly supported before starting the replacement process of the Parking Brake Cable. Start by removing the tire followed by the wheel then unfasten the front intermediate cable connector to achieve cable looseness. The right and left rear parking brake cables should be detached from the rear equalizer. First depress the retaining tabs on cable housings then pull the cables out from their brackets. Both parking brake levers should be detached from their cables followed by removal of the right and left cables from the caliper support brackets through conduit fitting retaining tab activation. Both parking brake rear cables must be installed by snapping their ends into their brackets before connecting them to the equalizer . Set the right and left cables in the caliper support brackets until the conduits snap and connect the parking brake cables to the parking brake levers. Reattach the tire and wheel followed by front cable connector connection of the intermediate cable when the Brake Pedal stays fully released.
