How to replace the rear compartment trunk lock cylinder on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

Before working on the lock you must first open the rear storage area and remove the back up lamp. Untwine the latch release cable from the lid lock cylinder then undo all fasteners which anchor this part to the rear compartment lid. Take out the lid lock cylinder through its location on the rear compartment lid. Place the lid lock cylinder onto the rear compartment lid before you install it according to fastener notice instructions. Put the fasteners into the lid lock cylinder and tighten them to 80 pounds of force (9 N.m). Secure the locking cable into the lid lock unit and put back the back up lamp. After testing the cylinder movement check its performance and put the rear compartment closed.
