  A: To replace the accumulator, you first recover the refrigerant and then you disconnect the air conditioning (A/C) compressor and condenser hose bolt at the accumulator. Take out the accumulator bolt off the module, followed by accumulator hose bracket nut at strut tower and also accumulator bracket bolt. Remove the accumulator from the bracket and dispose of the o-rings. Drain the tank of the tankless heater, measure, and record the volume of poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil from the removed accumulator, then add it 60 ml (2 oz) of new, clean, pag oil more than the amount drained, before installing a new or re-installation of the old accumulator.
