    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for changing the A/C accumulator requires first recovering all refrigerant followed by vehicle lift and support. Right after opening the condenser and evaporator lines immediately place a cap or apply taps to their ends to block potential contamination. Moderate pressure on the evaporator tube condenser bolt enables removal before extracting the accumulator which requires discard of the O-rings. Clean 535 viscosity refrigerant oil should be used to lubricate new O-rings which need to be installed onto the liquid line. You need to put the evaporator tube inside the A/C accumulator while tightening the nuts manually according to the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the evaporator tube bolt with a torque of 25 N.m (18 lb ft). The evaporator line should sit completely in the A/C accumulator before tightening the accumulator nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). The vehicle needs to be reduced in height for evacuation of system followed by the charging process.
