    A: The first step to replace the A/C accumulator includes vehicle elevation and support along with full refrigerant recovery. Use an appropriate cap or tapping method to close off the open condenser and evaporator line and protect them from impurities. The bolt holding the evaporator tube to the condenser needs to be removed before the technician can remove the accumulator and dispose of the O-rings. New O-rings need 535 viscosity refrigerant oil applied for lubrication before they are installed onto the liquid line. Put the evaporator tube inside the A/C accumulator while using hand strength to tighten the nuts according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Add the evaporator tube bolt after tightening it to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Check the evaporator line has entered the A/C accumulator completely before tightening its accumulator nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). To finish the procedure lower the vehicle then evacuate the system before charging it.
