Q: How to remove and install the cruise control module on 2000 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: In case the vehicle concerned does not have traction control, turn the throttle lever rearward, squeeze down the edge of the cable to have it come away from the throttle lever pin, use a flat bladed thing to press on the cable retainer on the Throttle Body bracket, slide the cruise control cable upwards from the Throttle Body bracket, and pull the cable away from under the accelerator/cruise control cable servo bracket. In case it is equipped with traction control, unsnap and remove the cruise control servo cable adjuster cover, rotate the upper cam, and remove the cruise control cable slug from the servo cable adjuster and then unsnap the locking tab before removing the cable from the slot. Lay the Throttle Body end of the cruise control cable down next to the Cruise Control Module, lift up and properly secure the vehicle, repeat the erosion of the line of left front bumper facia lower deflector and then the bolts of the coastal Cruise Control Module bracket. Next, remove the Cruise Control Module and bracket from the lr side engine compartment outer rail, unsnap and rem the Cruise Control Module cover, remove the electrical connector retainer, disconn the cruise control mod electr conn, and remove the cable locking ret from the mod. Compress the conduit tangs and pull the cruise control cable out from the module , unhook the cable bead from the module ribbon and lay the module and bracket on a work surface and remove the Cruise Control Module to bracket bolt to separate them. For installation, put the cruise control brass onto the bracket, bolt the cruise control brass, and tighten to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Check the cable end to make sure the o-ring is present, pull the Throttle Body end of the cable until it is taut as you hook cable bead to module ribbon, rotate cable end to align if needed to straighten the ribbon, push the cable fitting end over the ribbon, and snap cable end into module. Engage the conduit tangs, insert the cable locking retainer to the module, attach the module electrical connector, and attach the electrical connector retainer. Line up the Cruise Control Module cover over the cable and bracket snap the cover closed over the flanges on the bracket install the cruised control module and bracket to the left side engine compartment outer rail and tighten the Cruise Control Module bracket bolts to the rail to 10n.m (89 lb in) and the Cruise Control Module bracket bolt to 2n.m (18 lb in). Route the Throttle Body end of the cruise control, install the left front fascia lower, and lower the vehicle. If fitted with a traction control, turn the upper cam and mount the cruise control cable slug onto the servo cable adjuster, slide the cable into the slot, making sure the locking tab is in place and slide the cruise control servo cable adjuster cover and snap it into place. If not equipped with a traction control, rotate the throttle lever back, snap the cruise control cable end to the throttle lever, place the cable and slide it onto the slot, with the locking tab snapped and adjust the cruise control cable if necessary.
