    A: Services and repairs of the Steering Knuckle begin starts by raising and supporting the vehicle. Unbolt the stabilizer shaft link and the Wheel Hub off the Steering Knuckle. Remove the cotter pin from outer Tie Rod End and take off outer Tie Rod End nut . Remove the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle using universal steering linkage puller (J24319-01). Place the lower Control Arm on a jack stand and then remove the shock absorber lower bolts and nuts from the bolts and upper Control Arm cotter pin and nut. Use the Ball Joint/tie rod separator (J39549) to pry apart upper Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle , disconnect the upper Control Arm and upper Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle . Sacrifice the lower Control Arm cotter pin and take off the lower Control Arm nut. Again, employ the help of the Ball Joint/tie rod separator (J39549) to separate the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle , and remove the lower Control Arm and lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle. Finally, take out the Steering Knuckle from the vehicle. For installing, usher in the Steering Knuckle in back of the vehicle, align and install the lower Ball Joint and Control Arm to the Steering Knuckle , and bolt with the lower Control Arm nut secure it at 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Replace a new lower Control Arm cotter pin upward, align and install an upper Control Arm with an upper Ball Joint to the Steering Knuckle fastening with the upper Control Arm nut at 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.) and upwards an upper Control Arm cotter pin. Now reinstall the shock absorber lower bolts and nuts tightened at 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.), and take off the jack stand. Attach the outer Tie Rod End to the Steering Knuckle, screw the outer Tie Rod End nut and tighten it against all 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.), and a new cotter pin for the outer Tie Rod End. Replace the Wheel Hub on the Steering Knuckle and on the stabilizer shaft link, then bring down the vehicle, and inspect the wheel toe-in.
