The first step for working on the Vehicle Speed Sensor of the 4l60-e automatic transmission is to properly jack up and secure the vehicle. Remove the Vehicle Speed Sensor electrical connector, and following that, take out the Vehicle Speed Sensor bolt and sensor along with the o-ring seal , putting a container under the area to collect any transmission fluid. Look carefully at the transmission speed sensor for any cracks, nicks, or damage. Make sure you use a fresh o-ring seal when you put the Vehicle Speed Sensor in place and tighten the bolt to 11 nm (97 inch lbs.). Once the Vehicle Speed Sensor is reconnected and you've lowered the vehicle, look at the transmission fluid and top it off if needed.
