  A: Start the Water Pump service work by opening the radiator drain valve so you can drain the engine coolant below the Thermostat position. Next close and tighten the drain valve to 2 nm (18 inch lbs.). Begin by unbolting the Water Pump Pulley while disconnecting the accessory Drive Belt. After that disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the Water Pump. Do away with the Water Pump Pulley bolts and pulley first before opening the Water Pump bolts and removing the Water Pump plus gasket . Remove all traces of dirt from the Water Pump's mating surfaces including bolt areas. Install the new Water Pump Gasket on top of the Water Pump before fitting it into place with the Water Pump bolts. Tighten the bolts to 15 nm (11ft-lb) manually and use torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to torque them another 80 degrees. Place the Radiator Hose end to the Water Pump port before setting the Water Pump Pulley and bolts into place at 13 nm (115 inch lbs.) torque. Afterwards install the accessory Drive Belt. Before using the vehicle add coolant then turn the engine on to monitor for leaking when operating heat reaches normal.
