2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in an A/C system on 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: To replace the condenser, recover the refrigerant first. The next step is to take away the hood latch support and then the compressor hose assembly and also the evaporator tube from the condenser. Then remove the air upper seal from the Radiator and the three bolts that join the condenser to the Radiator. Remove the clips holding the condenser tabs away from the Radiator. For installation, place the condenser on the Radiator so that the tabs are fully seated in the clips. Install the three condenser to Radiator bolts and tighten them to 4 n.m (36 lb in.). Attach back the Radiator air upper seal to the flange of the Radiator, after the evaporator tube and the compressor hose to the condenser. Finally, reinstall the hood latch support, vacuum, and recharge the a/c, as well as test the refrigerant system on leaks.
