How to install the lower control arm on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?

Start by connecting the lower Control Arm to your vehicle with cam bolts along with washers and nuts which join the crossmember. Position the cam bolts exactly how they were marked during disassembly. Finally secure these components properly. The wheels need alignment after installation so we adjust the cam bolts without reaching the final torque values. Follow these steps to mount the lower Control Arm: place a jackstand under it and install the lower ball joint stud to the Steering Knuckle while using an allen wrench to stop the stud from spinning during nut tightening to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque before performing one more 210-degree turn to reach a minimum 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.) final torque setting. Push the stabilizer shaft link to the lower Control Arm before renewing the link nut to 72 nm (53 ft. Lbs.). The front transverse spring should be installed before the removal of a spring compressor tool j 33432-a. To finalize installation, thread the shock absorber to the lower Control Arm by tightening both lower mounting nuts to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). Additional electrical steps include connecting real-time damping to the shock and Wheel Speed Sensor if equipped. Take off the jackstands and install the tire and wheel assembly before lowering the vehicle and performing a front wheel alignment and finishing with a torque of 170 nm (125 ft. Lbs.) on the lower Control Arm cam bolt nuts.
