- Q: How to service the wiper arm on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?A: Before starting your Wiper Arm task raise the hood then turn the ignition to accessory mode and use the wiper system in intermittent mode. As the wiper arms move to the inner wipe position you should switch off the ignition. Set masking tape against each Wiper Blade tip on the windshield to show how to put them back in position. Locate and remove both the Wiper Arm cover and protective nut before sliding out the Wiper Arm from the wiper transmission parts. Remove the washer hose from the air inlet nozzle screen to unplug it before lifting the Wiper Arm off the wiper transmission. Take off the Wiper Blade from the Wiper Arm when needed. When replacing parts start with the Wiper Blade assembly before proceeding. Route the washer hose through the wiper driver section under the arm and put its nozzle directly in front of the Wiper Pivot point. Clamp the Wiper Blade with the taped measuring point on your windshield before installing it onto the wiper transmission base. You can adjust the Wiper Arm position during tightening since the tool requires movements; spread and realign if the arm strays from its placement mark. Fix the Wiper Arm nut onto the wiper transmission assembly then tighten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) while keeping the Wiper Arm in position. Put the wiper cover back onto the Wiper Arm before taking off the masking tape from the windshield.
