How to replace the front door striker on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

A front Door Striker replacement requires the removal of the door lock striker bolts before displacing the door lock striker and door lock striker spacer . The installation process starts with positioning the door lock striker spacer first before adding the door lock striker which must be fastened with the door lock striker bolts . Tighten the door lock striker bolts just enough to enable its movement before positioning the door outside handle to its closed position and pushing the door against the body to check for strike alignment. Open the door gradually while securing the door lock striker bolts at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Use proper touch-up paint to finish any parts of the lock pillar which remain untouched by previous applications.
