How to replace the Motor and Transmission Mount on the left side on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

The replacement process of a left-side transmission mount begins by properly supporting the vehicle through elevation. Begin by removing the left front wheel together with the tire then move onto removing the left front splash shield. The transaxle needs support through a combination of jackstand along with wood block. The thru-bolt and transmission mount must be removed first followed by unthreading the rear upper mount bolt which stays in position before you remove all other mount bolts to take out the mount. When installing the new mount start by placing the rear upper mount in its proper position before inserting the bolt into its threads. Screw in the remaining three mount bolts then use a torque wrench to tighten all four bolts to 66 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Install the mount thru-bolt after which tighten it to 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Complete the procedure by taking away the jackstand and wood block then reinstall the left splash shield before attaching the left tire along with wheel assembly and finally lower the vehicle.
