How to replace the front Motor and Transmission Mount on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

Raising and supporting the vehicle is the first step to perform to replace the front transmission mount. Support the engine using a jackstand and a piece of wood. Pull out the mount thu-bolt and remove the lower mount bracket bolts and the lower mount bracket. Now, use the bolts and remove the front transmission mount and the front transmission mount itself. For installation, mount the front transmission mount and bolt it down with the bolts, torqued to 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.). Next, place the lower transmission mount bracket and bolt it by applying a torque of 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.). Apply the transmission mount thru-bolt and tighten to 75 Nm (55ft. lbs). Finally, take off the jackstand and the wood block before putting the vehicle down.
