How to replace the side Motor and Transmission Mount on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

Vehicle side transmission mount replacement requires vehicle elevation and support after which technicians must remove both the left front wheel assembly and the left front splash shield. After securing the transaxle with a jackstand and a block of wood you can remove the thru-bolt from the transmission mount. Keep the rear upper mount bolt threaded but don't tighten it while removing all the remaining mount bolts before uninstalling the mount assembly. The new front part of the mount gets its rear upper bolt positioned into the threaded hole before you install each sequential bolt that requires tightening up to 66 nm (49 ft. Lbs.). Mounting the thru bolt into place requires a torque value of 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). The jackstand together with wood block needs to be removed after reinstalling the left splash shield and left tire along with wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle.
