The Lash Adjuster replacement requires removing the valve Rocker Arm covers followed by upper and lower intake manifolds then the Rocker Arm bolts and guide plates. Start by unbolting and removing Rocker Arm bolts and valve rocker arms along with guide plates. Keep all valve train components in the correct order for future reinstallation. First remove the Pushrod(s) after removing Lash Adjuster guide retainer bolts, Lash Adjuster guides, and lash adjusters. Degrease all gasket surfaces before inspecting both the lash adjusters and cam lobe wear patterns. After prelubing with gm p/n 12345501 or equivalent prelube the lash adjusters you should place them in their original positions. Secure the Lash Adjuster guide(s) using Lash Adjuster guide retainer bolts at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) torque. The replacement sequence includes Pushrod(s), guide plate(s), valve Rocker Arm(s), and bolt(s). Finally, lower and upper intake manifolds should be reinstalled. Reinstall all valve Rocker Arm covers into their original position.
