Use the strut compressor (J 34013-B) which mounts on the holding fixture (J 3289-20) with the strut compressor adapter (J 34013-88) to install the strut assembly. After compressing the coil spring you should separate the dust cap and strut rod piston nut for removal. The strut compressor (J 34013-B) receives the strut assembly after releasing spring compression followed by three steps of component removal: strut support , dust seal , spring seat and upper insulator. The assembly contains seven components including strut support , dust seal , spring seat , upper insulator , coil spring , spring bumper , and lower insulator . Start your installation process by connecting the following parts to the strut: lower insulator, spring bumper, coil spring, upper insulator, spring seat, dust seal and strut support. After securing the strut assembly within the strut compressor (J 34013-B) through the strut compressor adapter (J 34013-88) maintain pressure on the coil spring. Appliying 47 nm (34 ft. Lbs.) torque to the strut rod piston nut while installing wheel bearing lubricant gm p/n 1051344 or equivalent into the strut support before installing the dust cap followed by coil spring release and strut assembly placement.
