2000 Chevrolet Tracker Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the non-ABS vacuum brake booster on 2000 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Start service and repair of the non-abs vacuum Brake Booster by taking out the master cylinder assembly. Detach the brake vacuum hose from the Brake Booster assembly and take out the clevis pin from the push rod clevis. Then detach the push rod clevis from the brake pedal arm's mounting point. Take out the booster after removing the nuts from it. To make adjustments employ both j 39567 booster piston rod height gauge and j 37767 booster push rod adjuster tools. Rephrase the instruction before pushing the piston rod because this moves the reaction disc into position. Keep the booster filled with air to get accurate measurements. Press the j 39567 onto the master cylinder base and push its pin until it contacts the master cylinder piston . Place the j 39567 upside down on the booster unit while checking that the gap between the booster piston rod and the j 39567 should present 0 mm of space. Put on the j 37767 to support the booster piston rod then adjust the clearance through its adjusting screw if the measurement falls short of specified standards. You must apply wheel bearing lubricant part 1051344 equivalent to master cylinder piston before you install the booster onto the bulkhead without tightening the bulkhead nuts first. Insert all 4 nuts and link the booster push rod clevis to the brake pedal lever through the clevis pin and retention clip. Install the push rod clevis at its proper position where the measured distance between its pin hole and the Brake Booster assembly must stay between 4.31 and 4.35 inches. Fasten the clevis nut to 25 nm while securing the booster nuts to 13 nm. After adding the brake vacuum hose end with a hose clamp build the master cylinder onto its mounting bracket.
