    A: To service Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch, first, switch off the ignition in addition to relieving the coolant pressure. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electric connector and using a deep well socket along with an extension, remove the sensor. For the installation, coat the ECT sensor threads GM P/N 9985253 or the equivalent sealer, and then install the sensor in the engine and tighten it 23 N.m (17 lb ft). Reconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector and start the engine and check for leaks and also the amount of coolant.
