The first step involves taking off the liftgate handle molding followed by unfastening the lock cylinder retaining nuts. Disconnection of electrical connector must be performed when present followed by separating the lock rod from the cylinder before pulling out the liftgate lock cylinder. Place the lock cylinder within the liftgate opening which allows you to fasten the retaining nuts before setting torque to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Then reinstall the lock rod onto the key cylinder while connecting the electrical connector if it exists on the system. Construct a lock rod connection to the latch followed by liftgate handle molding installation and subsequent reinstallation of the liftgate trim panel before closing the entire liftgate.
