How to replace the sliding Door Latch Assembly on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?

You need to eliminate the sliding door inner trim panel before reaching the sliding door water deflector in order to change the sliding door latch. After removing the sliding door latch screws you must unhook the latch/lock rod from its location within the sliding door latch and separate the latch from its position. Before installation position the new sliding door latch on the door while hooking the latch/lock rod into its designated position. Become familiar with the correct fastener tightening sequence at the time of sliding door latch screw installation until they reach 10 N.m (89 lb in). The last step involves reinstalling the sliding door water deflector with the sliding door inner trim panel.
