Begin replacement of the sliding door latch by removing first the sliding door inner trim panel followed by the sliding door water deflector. Start by removing the sliding door latch screws and then unhook the latch/lock rod from the sliding door latch as it becomes loose before taking out the latch from the door. You should place the new sliding door latch on the door before connecting the latch/lock rod to proceed with installation. Follow the provided fastener notice to install the sliding door latch screws while tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in) force in the stated order.
