Begin by opening the liftgate and taking the trim panel off from it. To start with you must unscrew the liftgate latch retaining bolts before separating the electrical plug from the assembly. A small flat tool helps you unscrew the lock cylinder rod from the liftgate latch. Next you will release the stretch-resistant latch cable holder and disconnect the cable from the liftgate latch. You can mount the new liftgate latch when you place it on the liftgate and push the lock cylinder rod into place before connecting the latch cable and locking the cable retainer. Reconnect the electrical wires to the liftgate latch by following the fastener notice for correct attachment procedure. Complete the job by inserting and securing the liftgate bolt retainers at 10nm torque force. Replace the liftgate trim panel afterward and properly shut the liftgate.
