- Q: How to replace the Delphi CS 130D alternator on 2001 Buick Regal?A: In order to replace the delphi cs 130d generator, one must disconnect the battery negative wire, remove the Drive Belt of the generator and the generator rear brace. Next, remove the bolts (1, 3) and stud from the generator; disconnect the generation's electrical connector and set aside its protective boot from the generator bat terminal for access. Take off the generator output bat terminal nut and remove the battery (positive) lead from the generator before taking the generator itself. For installing the generator place it to the engine and plug the positive leads of the battery and generator output bat out putting nut with a tightness of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Install the protective boot onto the generator output bat terminal, the electrical connector put on and finger start the generator stud and bolts (1, 3) onto the generator bracket without tightening. It is compulsory to follow the mandatory torque sequence to tighten: the generator bolt to 50 n.m (37 lb ft); the generator stud to 50 n.m (37 lb ft); the generator rear bracket bolt to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Lastly, install the generator rear brace, installs the Drive Belt used on the generator, then reconnects the battery negative cable.
